Call of duty 1 through 14 are all based off of the same game engine, Quake 3 Arena (Q3A). Q3A was developed back in 1999 by id Software. Since 1999 id Software have made the source code to Q3A publicly available [https://github.com/id-Software/Quake-III-Arena which can be found here].
