Artix Entertainment, LLC is an independent video game developing and publishing company founded by Adam Bohn (better known to players by his pseudonym, Artix Krieger) in October 2002. Artix is very well known for making browser-based RPG (role playing games). Artix has developed and produced several games such as Adventure Quest, Adventure Quest Worlds, Epic Dual, Dragon Fable, MechQuest, and the first ever 3D game: Adventure Quest 3D. The first game Artix created was Adventure Quest, and the domain name they used was www.battleon.com therefore, most of these games can also be called Battleon games due to the domain.

Adventure Quest[edit]

AdventureQuest (also referred to by its website name BattleOn or abbreviated to AQ) is an online flash-based single-player role-playing video game started in 2002, and currently developed by Artix Entertainment. Adventure Quest was the first game Artix Entertainment released way back in 2002 and is still running to this day. Unfortunately, the development for Adventure Quest has been ceased due to all the newer games Artix has been working out, the game still has a small but loyal player base who still enjoy the game.

Gameplay[edit]

Adventure Quest is traditional to the older RPG type games like Final Fantasy and games like it. It is a turn-based RPG with the objective of killing monsters and bosses to collect experience points, gold, and Z-coins and secondary currency that can also be purchased with real money. Players level up as the defeat more and more monsters and are able to purchase different equipment, and the higher the level the better the equipment.

Events[edit]

Like most other RPGs, AdventureQuest has special releases or events as well as a limited time shop based on real-life holidays. Holidays include: Snugglefest (Valentine's Day), the Blarney War (St. Patrick's Day), April Fools, Mogloween (Halloween), and Frostval (Christmas). Adventure Quest also includes anniversary events such as The Dragon of Time, Curse of the Phantom Pixel, and Rise of the Shadow Council. These events are limited to each season/time and are only available within certain time frames.

Clans[edit]

In Adventure Quest, players can participate in competitive activities through the clan system. There are eight clans available for players to join, representing the eight elemental realms. Clan bases contain a shop that sells items of its respective element, as well as clan-unique items.

The eight clan leaders In addition to the in-game leaders of these clans, there are also player leaders who are elected on the BattleOn Forums. These players ensure activity and stability for their respective clans and also play larger parts during clan-based game releases. The clans within Adventure Quest are very empty at the current state of the game since it is indeed such an old game. Back in the time of the game thriving these clans were filled with lots of active players who enjoyed playing Adventure Quest.

Combat Mechanics[edit]

The combat mechanics of Adventure Quest starts through random encounters and quests, which can be found throughout the game. The game has a turn-based fighting system where in the player's turn they may attack, equip an item (such as a weapon, shield, or armor), use other miscellaneous items, cast a spell, perform a skill (if players are equipped with an item that has a skill), call a pet/guest, or flee from the battle. Both characters and monsters have elemental and weapon-based resistances and weaknesses. Elements include fire, ice, water, energy, earth, wind, light, and darkness. There are three categories of attacks, and each weapon, spell, or skill belongs to a category: melee, ranged, or magic. There are trainable stats within Adventure Quest such as: Strength, Dexterity, Intellect, Endurance, Charisma, and Luck. Each stat has its own advantages upon leveling up each stat.

Adventure Quest Worlds[edit]

AdventureQuest Worlds (often shortened to AQ Worlds or simply AQW) is a browser-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) released by Artix Entertainment in October 2008. Players are asked to choose from one of four "starting classes" (warrior, rogue, mage, or healer), each with different strengths and weaknesses. Leveling up lets characters learn new abilities and increase their attack power. Players have five different skills, depending on their character's class; the ability that is common to all classes is the "auto-attack" ability. Individual abilities, deemed "passive" abilities, may be unlocked after the character reaches a certain Rank. Players begin at Rank 1 and progress as they receive class points from defeating enemies; this may depend on the enemy's level and difficulty stars (1-5). Players gain experience and gold when enemies have been defeated. Players can also acquire other classes by gaining Reputation by completing quests in a certain location. AdventureQuest Worlds has events on special occasions. A new event is added to the game every other Friday. Some events are one time only while others are seasonal events that appear once every year. Often, participants in these events can procure event-specific items not available at any other time in the game. There is an anniversary on October 10 which enables the players to partake in the birthday-themed events and have access to the Underground Lab. Some events feature live events with guest stars like Voltaire, One-Eyed Doll, George Lowe, Paul and Storm, Jonathan Coulton, the cast of Ctrl+Alt+Del, Ayi Jihu, ArcAttack, They Might Be Giants, Andrew Huang, Mia J. Park, The Crüxshadows, and Michael Sinterniklaas as the voice of Deady. The game is set in a universe similar to those in AdventureQuest, DragonFable, and MechQuest. It was established that the Dragon of Time allowed the dragonslayer Galanoth to slay him which resulted in the hourglasses within the Dragon of Time's heart to shatter and the sands that represented the three worlds within each hourglass to merge resulting in the AdventureQuest Worlds universe being created. The goal of the game is to adventure through Lore, move on to higher levels, face the 13 Lords of Chaos, and fight Drakath: Champion of Chaos. As the story progresses, the player meets the Queen of Monsters who chose Drakath to be her Champion.

List of Trainers[edit]

There are many trainers from MPGH among them MayionGei, Myst Realm, Carbon and Dark Mystic ; but few survive, the following is a list of trainers who still work well today:
