League of Legends is a free-to-play video game (MOBA - multiplayer online battle arena) developed by Riot Games.

In League of Legends, players choose "champions" with unique skills and statistics. The goal is to destroy the enemy's "nexus". One game takes usually around 30 minutes.

Players collect gold from killing "minions", enemy champions, jungle monsters or destroying buildings (turrets, inhibitors, nexus). They can buy items that increase champion's statistics or give unique passive and active effects. They also gain champion's XP which can unlock or increase strength of the skills.

After the match players gain Blue Essence (game's currency) and XP.

Summoner's RiftEdit

 

The most popular map. Top, Mid, Bot and Jungle. Each line has 3 turrets and one inhibitor. In the jungle you can find blue (fast mana regeneration) and red (higher damage) buffs. There is also a dragon that give random buff and "Baron Nashor" with massive physical and magical damage buff. It is the strongest monster though.

Twisted TreelineEdit

 

Has 2 lines (Top & Bot) and Jungle. Each line has 2 turrets and one inhibitor. In the jungle there are 3 points that when taken - give different buffs.

Howling AbyssEdit

 

Has only one line with 2 turrets and one inhibitor. Players start with level 3 and you can find few heal points around the map.

Crystal ScarEdit

 

Rounded map with 5 points and jungle. Similar to the conquest game mode. The main goal is to take as many objectives as possible and destroy the opposing side's Nexus. Also defending your own objectives is key to success. The fog of war exists only in the jungle (this means that you can see the whole circle), as well as anywhere previous to the opposing sides first front-line tower.

League of Legends supports micro-transactions and allows players to purchase RP (Riot Points) currency. You can buy new champions, champion skins, ward skins or profile icons. Of course you can use the Blue Essence currency (slower and harder to get) or drop it from chests (that drop every level).

Prices are different depending the payment method due to region, taxes and fees.
