Fortnite is a co-op sandbox survival game developed by Epic Games, People Can Fly and published by Epic Games. The game was released as a paid-for early access title for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 25, 2017, with a full free-to-play release expected in 2018. The retail versions of the game were published by Gearbox Publishing, while Epic's launcher handles online distribution of the PC versions. All Fortnite game-modes are protected by EAC and Battleye.

Fortnite was created and runs on the Unreal Engine 4 developed by Epic Games.

A free-to-play mode, Fortnite Battle Royale, based on the battle royale game genre but based on the core Fortnite gameplay, was released for the same platforms in September 2017.

Fortnite Creative is a sandbox mode that was initially released for owners of the Battle Pass Season 7 on the 6th of December, 2018. Free players could be invited to other user's creations during this period. Officially it released on the 13th of December, 2018.

Ban types

Soft Ban

Caused by HxD editing, or any other non-game cheats/exploits.

  • The ban duration of soft bans average between 7-14 days, depending on the offense.

Normal Ban

The AC / anti-cheat / sprung in action and detected something unusual going on in the background/game.

  • The ban duration of normal bans are still unclear as of 2019. The durations seem to differ between days, to weeks, to permanent.

Heavy Ban

Permanent Ban with low to none chance of getting unbanned. Most to all information that EAC/Battleye collects is registered.

  • The ban duration of heavy bans are permanent.
